Cost Sharing & Fee FAQs

Everything you need to know about payments, platform fees, and e-Transfer contributions.

The platform fee covers app maintenance, smartphone match verification, background security checks, customer support, and continuous platform improvements.
No. Drivers post routes for free ($0.00 CAD) and keep 100% of the expense contributions collected directly from riders.
Riders pay the driver directly off-platform using Cash or Interac e-Transfer prior to or upon completion of the trip.
No. Because payments only reimburse actual fuel and vehicle wear-and-tear expenses without profit, Canadian carpooling regulations classify these contributions as non-commercial cost recoveries.
If the driver cancels the trip, the platform connection fee is automatically refunded or credited to the rider's account.
Never. Surge pricing does not exist on Cashride. The platform fee remains fixed and transparent regardless of time or weather conditions.
For a 50 km trip shared with 2 passengers, the per-rider gas contribution is approximately $7.50 CAD, plus the nominal platform fee, making total travel cost remarkably affordable!
The app accepts all major Canadian credit cards, Visa Debit, and Mastercard Debit.
